EP 268: 3 Signs It’s Time to Hire

If you’re reading this there’s likely one thing you know for sure, it’s that you’re burning the candle at both ends, or you’re awfully close to it.

But the one thing you may not know is whether now is a good time to hire and bring on help so you can ease the load you’re carrying in your business.

I get it, hiring in your spa can often feel like walking a tightrope as you need to strike a careful balance to ensure that you’re in the right place to bring on a new hire while also not waiting until it’s so late in the game that hiring feels more like a burden than a relief.

While my overall goal for all my Spa Marketing Made Easy listeners is to help you get your dream team on board sooner rather than later, in this episode, I want to help you pinpoint your timing so that you can grow with the smoothest trajectory possible.

And before you listen, a quick reminder…

You’re right on time and exactly in the right place for your unique journey.

All that we can do as business owners is make decisions that affect our present and set us up for the future success we desire. Looking to the past is helpful for lessons learned, but not beating ourselves up over the “could of, should of, would ofs.”

Seek to make the decisions and take the steps now as if you were already the Spa CEO you envision yourself becoming and growing into, and you’ll find that your timing will work itself out exactly as it’s supposed to.

Now, let’s listen in as we talk about how to identify those tell-tale signs that it’s time to hire and make the decisions that will help you grow to the next level with the right support by your side.

In this episode, I discuss:

  •  The first and more important thing you need to get clear on before embarking on building your team
  • Three clear-cut signs that it’s time to bring on help into your business
  • The financial breakdown of what’s possible when you begin to build out your team vs. what you can earn as a solo
  • My tips for Spa CEOs who are looking to bring on more admin support and my go-to exercise for determining what you can get off your plate
  • How to think big-picture and long-term to see how hiring plays into your bigger vision

EP 259: Planning for Support – Part 3 – Annual Planning Series

It’s often a term we hear in reference to raising babies or a family, but the sentiment rings true for entrepreneurs as well…

          “It takes a village.”

Yes, even if you’re a solo aesthetician or spa owner, you too need support because whether you’ve got a single location with you as the sole service provider or you have a huge team at multiple locations, every entrepreneur looking to grow, scale, or find freedom, whether it be with their time, energy, or finances, needs a support system.

And beyond being an entrepreneur, then comes the role of being an ambitious woman, partner, parent (I know we have a few men on my list of listeners, but the majority of my audience is women, and if you’re anything like me, your business is a big part of your life and responsibilities, but your outside-of-biz responsibilities stack just as high).

As women, we’re so often fed the dream of “having it all” and while I truly believe that to be possible and true, I don’t believe we can do it on our own, or at least not without burning ourselves out in the process.

And if we’re being honest with ourselves…is it really “having it all” if trying to “do it all” costs us our joy, our health, and the white space of our lives where rest, hobbies, family time, and spontaneity can flourish?

I don’t think I’m wrong in assuming that the answer there is “no.”

So, if you’re ready for growth this next year and you have big goals you want to hit, seeking out support is critical, and in this episode of Spa Marketing Made Easy, which is Part 3 of our month-long annual planning series, we’ll dive into what to consider as you look to bring in support personally and professionally in the year ahead.

          In this episode, you’ll learn:

          • How to plan for support both personally and professionally
          • Questions to consider when examining the work you’re doing and deciding what tasks and responsibilities to delegate
          • The two critical things you need to make your goals, which we outlined in Part 2 of our planning series a reality
          • A quick exercise for beginning to see which areas you need support in and how to outsource and delegate to start freeing up your time and energy quickly

EP 258: Planning Your Quarterly Focuses – Part 2 – Planning Series

Welcome to Part 2 of our Annual Planning Series on Spa Marketing Made Easy!

If you’ve yet to listen to Part 1, be sure to listen to that part first to get a firm understanding your commitments.

And once you’re clear on your commitments, bandwidth, and the values you want to align your goals with, now it’s time to take the next step of honing in on your quarterly focuses.

This part of the planning process is key because while it’s fun to do all the big, lofty, and audacious goal-setting and visioning for the whole year, it’s also important to have your overarching yearly goals acting as your North Star…

If you don’t take the time to break those big goals down, you’re going to be left spinning your wheels rather than actually moving forward and covering significant ground in reaching your goals.

Think of your quarterly goals as the crucial stepping stones to crossing the side of the wide river that is the year ahead.

Let’s map the journey, shall we?

          In this episode, you’ll learn:

          • How to bring what you uncovered in Part 1 of our planning process to the next step
          • Getting clear on divvying up your annual goals and benchmarks into quarterly goals and milestones
          • Why it’s critical to pace your goals and how determining a quarterly focus helps you to do that without burning yourself out or making rushed mistakes
          • Examples for how to space out your promotions and timing of your goals to make them realistic and achievable, while also wildly successful
          • The important of breaking every element of your goal own to its smallest parts

EP 256: Mapping and Fulfilling Your Goals for Greatness with Mechelle Barras

It’s the most wonderful time of the year 🎶…

No, not just the holiday season — goal setting season

Ah yes, the time to round out the year with reflection on all that’s transpired and look to the year ahead to vision and put an action plan to the dreams swirling inside our heads.

Now, I know not everyone loves goal-setting as much as I do (….I know, but can’t say I fully understand 😜 I’m just a nerd when it comes to goals)

But whether you’re a spa owner who lives for a good goal-planning session or consider goal-setting to be your business arch nemesis, this week’s episode of Spa Marketing Made Easy is for you.

In this episode, I’m joined by absolute Spa CEO powerhouse (among a multitude of other titles including registered nurse and 20-year retired police sergeant from the busiest agency in Indiana), Mechelle Barras, whose personal story and professional accomplishments will give anyone (goal-lover or not) a good dose of what it means to craft goals for greatness and strive to reach your fullest potential.

Now that she has grown and scaled her business, Pure Image Laser and Spa, to the next level, Mechelle is focusing on her life success and women’s empowerment coaching practice, where she helps professional women who are action-oriented, ambitious, and ready to discover their passion and live to their fullest potential become a leader in their field, and design a life filled with balance and passionate purpose.

As you’ll learn in this episode, Mechelle approaches her goals with an even mix of realistic benchmarks, clear goal posts, and a heavy dose of dreaming bigger, but it’s her mindset that really serves as the key to unlocking true greatness.

I dare you to listen to Mechelle’s journey and not be inspired and motivated to take action on your goals.

          In this episode, we discuss:

          •  The journey of Mechelle’s personal milestones and professional achievements and the biggest lessons she’s learned along the way that now inform her unique approach to mindset and setting goals
          • The concept of drive and whether it’s something we’re born with or can build, and Mechelle’s top tips for harnessing it

EP 254: Discovering Your Worth and Igniting Your Richness Revolution with Selina Gray

How do you define being and feeling rich?

Maybe it’s a little bit about money, and my hunch says it also involves a heavy dose of desire for freedom.

As my guest on this episode of Spa Marketing Made Easy, Selina Gray, explains – richness isn’t a number in the bank, it’s a state of being.

After working 100+hour work weeks across 12 countries, leading a global team of 30 for almost a decade as CPA, Selina found herself in the hospital for an extended period of time and facing an auto-immune diagnosis, which was her wake-up call to embody new forms of richness.

Now as the Founder & CEO of Richness Revolution, Selina has dedicated her life to empowering CEOs to lead themselves with unwavering energetic intelligence, emotional richness and financial power to break through ceilings in their business and earnings, as well as create massive ripple effects in their lives and communities.

If you’ve found yourself frazzled, or even burnt out in the quest to hit a certain monetary benchmark, it’s time to reassess and reevaluate your relationship with “richness,” and I can’t wait for you to tap into the wisdom Selina has to share in this episode.

          In this episode, we discuss:

          •  Selina’s story of climbing the corporate ladder in the world of finance on the quest for wealth and how that journey ended and prompted the Richness Revolution Selina now helps other business owners have today
          • Defining conscious wealth and how to identify and separate worthiness so they can create new connections and a healthier relationship with money
          • Why money and richness can be a highly emotional trigger and how Selina navigates releasing the labels and expectations we may have ingrained since childhood
          • Questions to ask yourself and actions to take to identify and reframe your stories, blocks and beliefs
