EP 370: Daniela’s Debrief: Addo Wellness Institute’s Spa Manager Certification Event

If you’ve been a long-time listener of the Spa Marketing Made Easy podcast, you’ll remember back in November I introduced my team’s next endeavor – Addo Wellness Institute, the first post-secondary school specializing in the business of aesthetics!

We’ve been moving right along since 2024 kicked off with our inaugural Spa Manager Certification course.

And I will say, after all of these years working primarily with spa owners, it’s incredible to witness the level of commitment these spa managers have to the spas they work at and the Spa CEO they work for.

As part of that course, we host one in-person event in Salt Lake City, Utah for the students to meet in-person and get more hands-on lessons from our teachers.

In today’s episode, I’m sharing a full debrief from the event, plus more details about the Spa Manager Certification.

If you are a spa owner, current spa manager, or aspiring spa manager interested in learning more about Addo Wellness Institute’s Spa Manager Certification, this episode is a must-listen!

            In this episode, I discuss:

            • Addo Wellness Institute’s first Spa Manager Certification in-person event
            • The positive morale and attitudes of the course’s students
            • Key differences that separate the CEO from the Spa Manager role
            • Three scenarios discussed at the event that can be used as a lesson to facilitate in your spa

To truly practice what I preach, leadership development is constantly in my routine.

The majority of my time is dedicated to being a CEO of a 7-figure company or coaching Spa CEOs.

EP 361: Setting Intentions: Daniela’s 2024 Words of the Year

One of my favorite practices every January is to set my intention for the year.

(If you’re reading this and thinking “I didn’t do that!” It’s never too late. Tune in to hear more about the process.)

The word (or phrase) I select is the constant reminder I refer to weekly as I navigate life and business for another year.

For 2024, I decided to switch it up a bit.

After seeing a Facebook post that said whichever 4 words you see first in the word scramble are going to determine your year, I decided to play along and ended up loving the 4 words I saw first.

Tune in to this episode to hear what my focus is going to be in 2024!

                In this episode, I discuss:

                • Intention setting and why it’s important to regularly practice
                • My process for setting my yearly intention
                • The 5 words I am committing to in 2024

EP 353: Releasing Guilt Over Time Spent and How We Plan for Success

Ambitious women are wired for guilt.

I know that statement packs a punch, especially if you let it sink in.

Whether its mom guilt, guilt for spending time on something “frivolous” or “wasting time” on something that doesn’t move the needle or make you money, it’s all too easy for an ambitious woman, especially entrepreneurs  to feel like you’re trying to “do it all,” but as a result, not doing any of it well.

No matter how you want to classify the guilt, I want to take some time to shine a light on it, talk through it, and make a plan to blow past it.

Life is too short to spend time in regret feeling guilty about how you’ve spent your time (it’s a vicious circle!).

And while I do believe we can do, be, and have it all, it’s not going to happen through white knuckling your to-do list or making yourself pliable enough to be bent and pulled in 20 different directions at once.

No, if you want to drop the guilt for good, and actually do everything you set out to do in that version of your dream life and business you have in your head, it’s time to put that vision into action with a plan, which is what you’ll learn when you tune in to this episode of Spa Marketing Made Easy.

In this episode, I go over:

                • How my journey through motherhood transformed my relationship with time and how I came face to face with mom guilt, plus, what I’ve done to shift out of it
                • Why it’s important to examine how we feel around how we’re spending our time and how that aligns with our vision for our life and our businesses
                • The 4 critical steps in my and my team’s annual planning process
                • How you can join us for our Next Level Growth live virtual event where I’ll walk you through the process so you can learn and implement in one power-packed afternoon!

EP 343: Checking In with Freedom In Action Grant Winner Juvy Cabanilla

If you’ve been listening to my podcast over the past year, you’ve probably heard me talk about the Freedom In Action Grant

We launched this grant in partnership with the Liberté Foundation for Women in July of 2022.

Since its inception, we’ve been fortunate to give away three $10,000 grants to women owned businesses in the spa industry.

We still have two more $10,000 grant opportunities that we will give away in late 2023 and in 2024.

The second winner awarded in November 2022 was Juvy Cabanilla, owner of Skincare Maui in Hawaii.

On today’s episode, I catch up with Juvy to hear about how she’s used the grant money in her business.

Juvy is an esthetician, licensed massage therapist, mom of two, and she’s taught 22 years in the Hawaii public schools and is currently a Resource Teacher mentoring first and second year teachers.

                  In this episode, we discuss:

                  • Being a single mom and how this grant came at the perfect time for her business
                  • Juvy’s application process creating her winning video submission
